AUTO/TRUCK ACCIDENTS
Auto and truck accidents involve the unsafe use of vehicles resulting in injuries or death to occupants or pedestrians. Commercial vehicle accidents often occur to due to speed, vehicle disrepair, driver skill/training and impairment due to alcohol/drugs. We thoroughly investigate each case, employing various experts when needed, to present a complete demand to the opposing insurance company.
WORKPLACE ACCIDENTS
Jobsite accidents, often occurring at construction sites and manufacturing plants, often involve the negligent use of machinery, or unsafe decision making, resulting in injuries or death. Often injuries are caused by employees or contractors of other companies, on the jobsite. We determine fault, often with the hiring of OSHA experts, in order to identify multiple responsible parties.
MEDICAL MALPRACTICE &
NURSING HOME NEGLIGENCE
Medical malpractice occurs when a health care professional fails to follow standard medical practices, resulting in injuries/death. Nursing home cases in particular often occur from acts of neglect, or even abuse. We thoroughly investigate, hiring experts to review patient records.
BAMC PATIENT BILLING CASES
As the author of “BAMC: Surprise Billing: A Level One Nightmare,” published in the San Antonio Lawyer Magazine, our attorney has successfully settled multiple government claims against patients unable to pay their extremely high medical bills. We also take action to halt the garnishment of patient paychecks and tax refunds, while negotiating significant reductions/waivers of bill balances.
PROBATE
After death, an individual’s house and personal belongings do not automatically pass to family members. Instead, whether through wishes set out in a will, or, when there is no will, a person’s property must go through the legal process, called “Probate”. A court grants a designated person the authority to distribute all property of the deceased person. We file with the courts to open probate cases to obtain court authority to distribute estate property. We explain the process and the outcome to our clients so that they are involved with the multiple steps required to finalize the probate process.
WILLS
A will (a formal written document) allows a person to specifically choose who gets ones house and personal belongings after death.
Without a will, Texas law instead decides who get what. We prepare “will packages” which include a will, a medical power of attorney, durable power of attorney, and a medical directive.

THE FIRM:
After attending Northwestern University in an Honors Program, Barry Beer traveled to Texas to earn his law degree from Texas Tech University School of Law. He clerked for the National Labor Relations Board, and Texas Attorney General’s Office. He relocated to San Antonio to practice with a large plaintiff’s trial firm, practicing in both state courts and before the US District Court for the Western District of Texas, as well as the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the US Supreme Court. He has served as a San Antonio Bar Association Chairman of the Media Relations Committee and has been a sustaining member of the San Antonio Trial Lawyers Association. Because of his interest in writing, he joined the editorial board of the San Antonio Lawyer Magazine, writing and publishing multiple articles. He was awarded a Texas State Bar Award for one of his publications. Most recently, he was awarded a Top 100 Judgement Award for a personal injury outcome in Federal Courts, nationally.
After attending Colorado State University, Jerry King traveled to Texas to attend Baylor’s School of Law. He started his legal career with Valero Energy, becoming Assistant General Counsel and Managing Attorney. He joined fellow professor Barry Beer in forming The Law Offices of Beer & King in 2009. As a mediator, he was “TMCA Credentialed Distinguished,” by the Texas Mediator Credentialing Association, and has mediated over 415 disputes involving a wide range of issues. He was the Chairman of the ADR Committee of the San Antonio Bar Association. As a former member of the American Corporate Counsel Association, he helped found the San Antonio Chapter and served as the Director-Secretary.
